American Iron & Steel Institute announced that in the week ending on 24 September 2022, US’s domestic raw steel production was 1.683 million net tons while the capability utilization rate was 76.4%. Production was 1.839 million net tons in the week ending 24 September 2021 while the capability utilization then was 83.3%. The current week production represents 8.5% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Production for the week ending 24 September 2022 is down 0.6% from the previous week ending 17 September 2022 when production was 1.694 million net tons and the rate of capability utilization was 76.9%Southern: 715 KNTGreat Lakes: 565 KNTMidwest: 194 KNTNorth East: 144 KNTWestern: 65 KNTAdjusted year-to-date production through 24 September 2022 was 66.418 million net tons, at a capability utilization rate of 79.6%. That is down 4.0% from the 69.208 million net tons during the same period last year, when the capability utilization rate was 81.0%
