American Iron & Steel Institute reported that in the week ending on 17 December 17 2022, US’s domestic raw steel production was 1.627 million net tons while the capability utilization rate was 72.9%. Production was 1.768 million net tons in the week ending 17 December 2021 while the capability utilization then was 80.1%. The current week production represents 8.0% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Production for the week ending 17 December 2022 is down 0.5% from the previous week ending 10 December 2022 when production was 1.635 million net tons and the rate of capability utilization was 73.3%Southern: 674 KNTGreat Lakes: 559 KNTMidwest: 200 KNTNorth East: 121 KNTWestern: 73 KNT Adjusted year-to-date production through 17 December 2022 was 85.991 net tons, at a capability utilization rate of 78.1%.
