American Iron & Steel Institute announced that in the week ending on 16 July 2022, US’s domestic raw steel production was 1.738 million net tons while the capability utilization rate was 78.9%. Production was 1.862 million net tons in the week ending 16 July 2021 while the capability utilization then was 84.4%. The current week production represents a 6.7% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Production for the week ending 16 July 2022 is down 0.6% from the previous week ending 9 July 2022 when production was 1.748 million net tons and the rate of capability utilization was 79.3%.Southern: 724 KNTGreat Lakes: 574 KNTMidwest: 205 KNTNorth East: 166 KNTWestern: 69 KNTAdjusted year-to-date production through 16 July 2022 was 49.354 million net tons, at a capability utilization rate of 80.4%.
