American Iron & Steel Institute announced that in the week ending on 9 July 2022, US’s domestic raw steel production was 1.748 million net tons while the capability utilization rate was 79.3%. Production was 1.862 million net tons in the week ending 9 July 2021 while the capability utilization then was 84.4%. The current week production represents a 6.1% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Production for the week ending 9 July 2022 is down 1.1% from the previous week ending 2 July 2022 when production was 1.767 million net tons and the rate of capability utilization was 80.9%.Southern: 725 KNTGreat Lakes: 577 KNTMidwest: 209 KNTNorth East: 164 KNTWestern: 73 KNT Adjusted year-to-date production through 9 July 2022 was 47.616 million net tons at a capability utilization rate of 80.5%.
