Production was 1.768 million net tons in the week ending 24 December 2021 while the capability utilization then was 80.1%. The current week production represents 8.7% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Production for the week ending 24 December 2022 is down 0.8% from the previous week ending 17 December 2022 when production was 1.627 million net tons and the rate of capability utilization was 72.9%Southern: 670Great Lakes: 557Midwest: 197North East: 119Western: 71 Adjusted year-to-date production through 24 December 2022 was 87.605 million net tons, at a capability utilization rate of 78.0%. That is down 5.6% from the 92.809 million net tons during the same period last year, when the capability utilization rate was 81.2%
