American Iron & Steel Institute reported that in week ending on 25 February 2023, US’s domestic raw steel production was 1.674 million net tons while the capability utilization rate was 74.9%. Production was 1.755 million net tons in the week ending 25 February 2022 while the capability utilization then was 80.8%. The current week production represents a 4.6% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Production for the week ending 25 February 2023 is up 1.2% from the previous week ending on 18 February 2023 when production was 1.654 million net tons and the rate of capability utilization was 74.0%.Southern: 732,000 net tonGreat Lakes: 520,000 net tonMidwest: 209,000 net tonNorth East: 146,000 net tonWestern: 67,000 net tonAdjusted year-to-date production through 25 February 2023 was 13.100 million net tons, at a capability utilization rate of 73.2%.
