American Iron & Steel Institute reported that in the week ending on 31 December 2022, US’s raw steel production was 1.602 million net tons while the capability utilization rate was 71.8%. Production was 1.768 million net tons in the week ending 31 December 2021 while the capability utilization then was 80.1%. The current week production represents a 9.4% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Production for the week ending 31 December 2022 is down 0.7% from the previous week ending 24 December 2022 when production was 1.614 million net tons and the rate of capability utilization was 72.3%.Southern: 663 KNTGreat Lakes: 544 KNTMidwest: 195 KNTNorth East: 125 KNTWestern: 75 KNT Adjusted year-to-date production through 31 December 2022 was 89.059 million net tons, at a capability utilization rate of 77.7%.
