The American Iron and Steel Institute has reported that for the month of April 2022, US steel mills shipped 7.630 million net tons, a 2.7% YoY decrease & 2.6% YoY. Shipments in January-April 2022 are 30.456 million net tons, a 1.7% YoY increase.A comparison of shipments year-to-date in 2022 to the first four months of 2021 shows that while corrosion-resistant sheet & strip shipments remained unchanged YoY, hot rolled & cold rolled shipments are down 4% YoY & 8% YoY
