In response to US Deputy Treasury Secretary Mr Wally Adeyemo’s letter to Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen's Association warning that Turkish companies should not to work with the sanctioned Russians, TUSIAD in a letter sent to Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Treasury & Finance said that many countries, especially the USA and the European Union, took sanction decisions after Russia's attack on Ukraine that started on 24 February.Mr Adeyemo has said “Russia is trying to use Turkey to circumvent Western sanctions. Those who do business with Russian institutions and individuals will face sanctions. Please note that relations with sanctioned Russian institutions and organizations may expose Turkey's financial institutions and businesses to the risk of sanctions.”
