German steel Association WV Stahl’s new President ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe’s CEO Mr Bernhard Osburg said “The German steel industry is ready to accept the immense challenges of the transformation to climate neutrality.” WV Stahl said “The conversion of production processes requires billions in investment. The companies would welcome the fact that politicians in Brussels, the federal government and the federal states were prepared to support the steel industry in mastering the transformation process. Now the outstanding decisions must be taken quickly. 2023 must be the year of implementation. Commitments and individual payments, for example for pilot projects, must become a reliable inflow of funds.”
